Click on the Co8 modpack explained banner and scroll down to common issues.

Basically, don't install in program files, run as admin, and turn off UAC.

Thanks for the help but i am still confused.

I understand about installing the TOEE into a non programme file but i am confused over wich programs should be run as administrator.

Do I run toee exe file as an adminstrtor when i first install the game? Then run the co8 exe as an adminstrator unpacking into the toee exe file. then run the game as an admistrator every time i play it?

or do i install all files as normal but run the moded toee file as an adminstrator only when i play the game or do i do a combination of the above? :dizzy:

    Thanks

    Tom

    ps

where will i find my UAC to turn it off?

I recommend running each step as admin, even the install steps, everything you can run as admin ... run as admin. ;)

You can right click on the TFE-X desktop icon and go to properties then compatibility tab and put a check in the "run as admin" box down at the bottom, this way you wont have to use the run as admin command each time.

I am also running Win7 64 bit and TOEE is running great.

Oh, and you can just type UAC in the search box on the start menu to go to your settings.

    Thankyou sirchet.

i have succesfully used your advise to install and activate toee 7.5 nc but when i run it i get a crash and a message saying run time error make sure you have patch two. I am using the gog version wich comes pre patched so i am greatly confused.

could it be sothning else causing the problem? such as the screen settings for instance?

also i had to disable my macafee because it thougth toee was a trogen.

    Yours gratefully in continued confution

MacAfee will probably have to be uninstalled - it's deleting the executable. Some hyper-aggressive antivirus software still actually operates while it's disabled ... basically ToEE and MacAfee are a match made in hell.

Many thanks to both sirchet and gaear. Thanks to sirchets advice i got the game installed and thanks to gaears advice i changed my antivirus and the game now runs fine. :)

Is it worth putting this advice in the how to install the game sticky thread?

    thanks again.

Well, it's in the troubleshooting section of Co8ME.

And congrats on getting it going.
