Has anyone had success playing Co8 on a Windows 8 machine? I've been trying to run the game, but having difficulty. I can install the game and Co8. I see the "colored lines" issue on the character creation screens, but I can live with that. I created a test character and go to the shopmap, but the game crashes to desktop when I try to leave. It also crashes to desktop when I select the Save button on the video options screen, or when I select Quit Game. I am running as an administrator. I've tried various permutations of screen resolution, etc. It could potentially be a graphics issue; this machine uses Intel HD Integrated graphics (included fully updated drivers). However, I've used machines with integrated graphics cards in the past without issue.
Do you have scaling turned off in your graphics settings? In the front end try disabling the intro movie and see if you get further. Oh, and I would run Win8 in "desktop" mode.
