Hi all: When I first experienced the looting bug, I totally uninstalled the game, deleted all applicable folders that remained in regard to ToEE that the uninstall did not catch, reinstalled the game, installed the Atari 2 patch, the latest fan fixes patch, and the temple.zip. Looting bug still exists...Even tried to reload a fresh version of DirectX 9.0c....no luck. Been playing between DOS and Windows when I needed to loot. Question is for a PC n00b - What steps do I do to ensure a fresh install of ToEE besides uninstall? Do I need to change some registry entry and if so, how? Any other suggestions would be great - I used to play AD&D with PnP and this was the best module they ever did. I would really love to get this game going properly. BTW, I would like to see "Keep on the Borderlands", "Castle Amber" and the competion modules for (Insert name here??) where you fought Hill Giants, then Frost Giants, then Fire and then it opens to the Land of the Drow and "Queen of the Demon Web Pits" - BTW, this is the "Lolth" in which Lareth speaks...A big azz spider b*tch...lol
The patches do work, I promise. If you cannot loot it means that somehow Moebius temple.dll has not installed properly. Did you unzip it directly to the folder called ToEE inside the Atari folder? I won't give instructions on how to clean your registry out over the internet. It's one of those things that can really ruin your day if you make a mistake. edit: as a temporary workaround, if you press C and then try to loot, does it work?
Yep, right in the main ToEE folder. I will try the "C" button fix...thanks again. You all are preventing me from throwing a temper tantrum....lol BTW - does the temple.zip file have to be installed? What functionality does it add to the game?
Moebius' temple.dll fixes the looting bug plus a whole lot more... Not sure how it isn't working if you have unzipped it to ToEE folder. Something has got to be going wrong with how you are patching it. edit: ignore me saying 'installed' (it's 6 am and the coffee is wearing off). It just needs throwing in the right place and saying 'yes to all' changes.
One more thing - What are the steps necessary for a "clean install" of the game? Only uninstall? or more? Please elaborate everyone / anyone.....
It has been reported that for a full uninstall, you will also have to remove some files/ folders manually, as well as removing some registry entries (although i haven't done this myself yet). However, as zebedee already said... editing your registry can severely damage your system if you don't know what you are doing. Bisrha
