Hello... Hmmm... well... I have a Lawful Good party that has a Paladin party leader.. and then i go to the Jewelry Shop in Hommlet, then decided to trade with my Gems...etc... well i try my Rouge to use the "Sleight of Hand" skill on the store owner(mira/nira??)... and then he spotted my Rouge and starts the combat... then i killed them all(including the guards)... well i notice that my Paladin didn't became fallen(†).... does the place doesn't have the "Paladin becoming Fallen" script???... or is it really OK to massacre those guys?
Paladins falling is based on reputations, I believe. @ted had a whole thing on RPG Rant about this. iirc, you would need to kill another innocent in town before getting the Butcher of Hommlet Rep, assuming that Nira and his guards are the same faction as the Hommletians - I am guessing NOT!
The reason I think the paladin did not fall is because either it is not related to a quest or your party did not start the combat. A test would be to walk up to Nira with your paladin and kill him. It could also be like Basil the Timid said you have to kill more than one person in Hommlet. Also Nira is recently from Nulb. The Hommlet people may not have warmed up to him yet. Certain quests will most definitely make your paladin fall.
As ya dont start the fight, this should make diference, too. I'm not sure if ANY "inocent" the paladin kills make him to fall. And, furthermore, trades are not exactly "innocent people"....
The rogue got you in trouble and you killed a very valuable merchant. I'd think about replaying that one.
emo_ome, Why is rogue in a lawful good party trying to pickpocket a honest trader? Just to see if you could do it?
hmmm... quite yeah and quite no... but anyways i got his Longsword +1 for my Paladin... and also a key... to his chest...
hmm... now i wonder if that is the reason he keep his secrets...(when i ask him where city he's from...? [something like that...])
