Here's an interesting (and positive) write-up on ToEE and the Co8 modpack: An Appeal From The Game Preservation Society - The Temple of Elemental Evil and the Circle of Eight
Band of digital necromancers? I think it was meant in a complimentary way. Anyhow, it is a nice, positive report. It's good to be noticed and complimented on your work. I think the writer meant Atari, not Activision. If ToEE was a Activision game, wow, they do great games. ToEE with an Infinity Ward engine. That would be something to see. Dream on, George.
This is good. Hopefully we will see a resurgence of older games that completely blow away all these joker games that dazzle you with brilliance AND baffle you with bull!@#$. Games like counter strike, halo, doom 3, warcraft 3, world of asscraft and all the rest of the knuckledragging $600-video-card-required that has come out in the last 7 or 8 years. How about bringing back the godfather of all computer games and some others...the doom series, pong, rock-paper-scissors, doom, duke nukem, kick-the-can, dodgeball, trench, smear the qu!@#, hexen, hexen 2, leisure suit larry, dragon's lair, space ace, and the list goes on. No more loser dvd games that are 3200 TB, require an internet connection to play and a monthly fee, etc. I mean all the games that are visually stunning but are about as interesting as a sack of wet mice.
Wow, we have grappling and disarming? Good ol' Activision. Nice tone though - always good to get some recognition
Lol, I don't think wc3 falls into the $600 video card category. XD But I do agree, seeing older games get recognition (especially the ones that are good enough to spawn a community like Co8) is really nice. Lol, it would be interesting to see someone do a full conversion of the infinity engine to recreate ToEE in it. XD
