With the stunning success of KotB: The Demo™, I think the next step for his Tedness is obvious: Start your own independent game company! What's holding you back, Shining One? Cast aside such ephemeral novelties as "career", "income" and "shelter". With the success of projects like Eschalon I and The Witcher, and soon-to-be successes like Age of Decadence and Mount and Blade, the time is ripe to risk everything on an eight-sided die roll! I would help. It's a little known fact that I'm actually more competent at character rigging and animation, skills I sadly was not able to utilize for KotB, than 3D modeling. Perhaps you could even get a few million up front from someone like EA. They love to throw the money around and even seem to be finally acknowledging that their company is a clearing house for stagnant and uninspiring sequels, and not much else. PM me with a business proposal and I'll look it over.
My personal hope is that those most intimately involved with KotB will be picked up by the industry and hopefully given the opportunity to pursue the vision that Troika opened our eyes to or failing that offered well-paying jobs within the industry.
 I rolled 38 1's in a row? Now EA owns my family :sadblinky I would love to be a plot / quest / dlg writer for games, never thought about starting my own company (not a CRPG developer anyway). I'll have a think about it But I think I just like making stuff and putting it out there for free: its the way the world should be.
I know I'd love to get paid for messing around with computer game files, in fact if I were getting paid for it I might even put in a little more effort!
I must admit, lately I've had the urge to try and get into the game-making industry... though I know I don't quite have the training (but I think I have the skills if I'd flesh them out enough). Ah well, one can dream, after all.
It's a nice hope, but I think KotB is way under the radar for anyone who actually makes those decisions. My best advice for someone wanting to break on through would be to get on one of the high profile NWN2 modding teams. It seems like Bioware recruits half their staff from places like DLA for these efforts. And they're not the only ones picking out these talented individuals. I wish there was some way to get hold of Leonard Boyarsky just so he could look at a few screen shots or read a list of our improvements. For all I know the people from Troika will never even hear about our collective mad genius. **** EDIT: actually I *can* (and will) get hold of him.
*laugh* LOL! Maybe that is why no one from Atari ever gives any of us a hard time, etc. Note: Well, Agetian does know Steve Moret.
Yeah, the Troika guys know us very well. In fact, I recall hearing some time back that they personally recommend the Co8 mod for players of ToEE.
