Uh... are you sure about that? Actually, I wouldn't rely on that. If you're having the same problem with a different brand of mouse, it's usually best to go to the manufacturer's website, and download their update for your mouse. Not saying the Logitech driver won't work. It might, but, more often than not, it will just not work or cause more problems.
It is always best to use the manufacturer drivers. If your Windows does not have a driver, by default - from the manufacturer, that recognizes and works with a device, your best option is to use manufacturer drivers. One exception is for video card drivers, but that does not apply here.
You guys are missing the point. The Common Issue was not "I have unexplained mouse problems," it was "my mouse is slow and unresponsive with ToEE." While updating mouse drivers from your manufacturer might be appropriate for problem X, the Logitech driver enables a Microsoft mouse (and maybe others, as Allyx stated) to move faster in ToEE, as described in the CI&S post. This is an old tried and true workaround from way back in the Atari forum days. It works. I've used it for 3 years with my Microsoft mouse. And I've never once heard any feedback to the contrary from people who've tried it. Anyone with a slow and unresponsive non-Logitech mouse in ToEE who updates his manufacturer drivers is likely to continue to have a slow and unresponsive mouse in ToEE. This distinction is the very purpose for that CI&S post.
