Greetings all. I must start off by saying, I am thoroughly enjoying this game. The extra content from the CO8 mod has been great. I am on my third game overall after two aborted starts. My NG party of 8 PC's has been very fun to play. I've read and reread the "don't do these things" section to try to avoid any glitches and crashes. I save frequently and thus far have only had one "corrupted save file" error which was easily recovered past. I will also add that I have never opened/activated the console. Anyways, I think I am done killing all the hextorites including those that I charmed along the way, and have discovered that ANY building I try to enter (defense building, inn, random house) results in a CTD. I've spent a good chunk of time on this quest, I don't really want to restart it unless I have to. Does anyone have any good tips or suggestions for me to try?
I am no expert, but I suspect you will need to return to an earlier save. I suggest that you save the game after each battle during the WotGS. I needed to do that for WotGS, and also Hickory Branch, where I got hung up often, in particular from two stone giants next to the fort in the exploding runes field.
I am also no expert, but your advice worked. I rolled back a few saves and I was able to enter and exit buildings without CTD. Having more energy this morning, I also just started over the quest, this time with no charms. Although having nine of the hextor assassins running along with me acting as fodder and shock troops was fun, I suspect it was wreaking havoc with the quest triggers and ultimately was probably the cause of the crashing. So far so good.
