microsoft dotNET version 2 x86 that is not a beta version

PS: After you install dotNET version 2 x86, you might want to defragment your hard drive, too. [just a secondary thought]

    install dotNET 2 x86
    reboot
    defrag the hard drive
    reboot

Are You Saying That I Need Another Version, Not The 2 X 86. And If So Which Version.

No, x86 simply refers to an install package with respect to Intel/AMD computers, a designation from the 8086 and 8088, 80286, 80386, and 80486 desktop computers, all pre-Pentium dated class of computers.
    * It relates to the particular type of installation package. For comparison, generally, there are i32 executable, various data file, and other types of installation packages.

Spelled out, you need the following installation package for Windows computers.
dotNET version 2.0 redistributable package (x86)
this package, over 22 MegaBytes -> click here.

PS: Just double-click a downloaded copy of the above file to have it automatically install and configure dotNET 2.

Once you have the proper version of Windows Installer and patched version of Windows on your computer, do what I told two other people, yesterday, to do - namely, this.

"1. If you already installed ToEE, use the Add or Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel to uninstall both the Co8 4.0.0 MOD and ToEE. And, after the two uninstalls, delete all the remaining game folders for ToEE.
    2. Reboot the computer.
    3. Install dotNET version 2.0 redistributable (x86), not a Beta version. (Search for and find it to download it from the microsoft.com site.)
    4. Reboot the computer.
    5. Install ToEE using the two ToEE CD disks.
    6. Apply the Atari Patch1 and Patch2. (I recommend you install both.)
    7. Install the Co8 4.0.0 MOD.
    8. Replace the ToEE.exe file with the NO-CD fix version of the ToEE.exe file. (Search the Co8 forums for the NO-CD fix to learn where to download it from.)
    9. Reboot the computer.

Note: The Co8 4.1.0 MOD is still in development with ongoing changes and updates. Don't install it--it is NOT spelled out; it is not a simple setup; it is in developement. And before you ask, no, no one knows when it will be completed. I would also suggest you do not install the Co8 4.0.1 Patch, either.

PS: When you install the Co8 4.0.0 MOD, the first checkbox option [when selected by clicking to place a checkmark in that option box] will install ToEEFE."
