    If you're in a position to get really spanked, you should use options to hedge your position (I found that out the hard way when the GFC first hit).

    I jumped back in yesterday thinking it was near bottom - I'm down today, but not by much.

    I guess the days of splitting are long gone. The only company I can see really having a decent shot at splitting would be google and all the gun and ammo manufacturers.

    True. Still, it's a bit disheartening when you look at the figures. 2008-2009 was pretty bad for my balance, but it's recovered.
