I have a dillema here. I rescued the elven countess and gave her instructions on how to leave. Proceeding further down I found the prince. However, the thing is - I have a full party of 8 custom characters. I don't have room for him to join and I can't simply tell one of my party members to wait at the inn to free up a slot. I can only delete a character, which suxs. I don't even have the option to give the prince directions, he goes out to find his own way out and gives me a golden necklace. Does that mean there is no way for me to get the phat loot reward one normally gets from him after he escorts him out of the temple?
Yup, that's one of the prices you pay for an 8 man party. A party of 8, you almost have your own platoon with you.
If you want the fancy sword, you could kill Thrommel and pinch Fragarach If you want the money, you could kill Thrommel, pinch the sword and sell it on I believe it's also possible to console in XP for characters, so you could remove a character (don't forget to drop all their stuff first!), lead Thrommel out then replace the character at the Inn (starts with 0XP) then console their XP back to its previous value. You'd have to then rebuild feats, skills, spell selections etc (perhaps drop a cleric for speed).
Yeah its moments like these where you realize having a whole army's worth of party members isn't really that great of an idea The console XP trick Nightcanon posted is likely your best option. There's a more detailed explanation on this thread: www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8004
Have your wizard or sorcerer cast charm person on him and just leave the temple before it wears out. If you wanna cheat, kill him and take his stuff, ressurect him and cast charm person. Before leaving the temple, drop Fragarach and then go back and fetch it, otherwise he will just take it from you. the game is too easy with one of the bastard swords and with both it is a walk over.
I jsut tried that console trick. but once I remove a character I CAN'T ADD THEM BACK. They keep showing as red (Joined party) even tough they are removed, so I cannot add a lvl1 version of a character I dropped. WTF????
This is nothing new. Once a character has been in a party, they are no longer available to be added again.
You do have the choice of rolling up a new character in the same screen that you dismissed the other one. And you get to choose the starting feats and such again, just so they're perfect.
