I'm running a downloaded version of ToEE with v3 patch, and the Co8 patch on top of it. (I also have DirectX 9.0c) I was able to interact with the courier (IIRC, he offered me a scroll of 12 1st level spells), but I was only able to do so, after I overwrote the temple.dll. Now I put the Co8 patch on top of ToE, and now I can't interact with the carrier at all. Any clues?
Patch 3 is the problem.. Is says in the read me for C08 mod that do not use patch 3! I think just installing patch 2 over patch 3 can requtify the problem. peace...
With the download version, you may have to use patch 1 before trying to use patch 2. The Co8 build is designed to work with patch 2. Strange things can happen with patch 3. The download version seems to cause a great deal of problems. Would really recommend anyone reading this and thinking of purchasing the game to buy the CD version instead. The Atari best of range costs around £5 (under $10 US).
