    Hi all,

You guys have really put a lot of work into this game... thanks for that. :notworthy

I recently was forced to upgrade my computer [harddrive overheated] and thought it would be a good time to upgrade. I did not go with the best for anything that I bought... excepting my motherboard [ASUS A8N-SLI is a beatifull thing]. However, the system that I was running this game on a while back was pretty lacking and it was _very_ buggy. I thought installing it would be a good test of my new hardware. I searched around on here and found the following patches and have installed them in the order they are listed.

    1 TOEE_PATCH1_ENU
    2 TOEE_USA_ANY-PATCH2
    3 ToEE_Fan_Fixes_V3-0-4
    4 Livonya's Beta 1.5.1 Mod Setup
    5 humble_npc_v1
    6 MaxHP_Setup
    7 TOEE_PCCount_Patcher
    - I ran this, but didnt change anything. Should I?
    8 fix_neg_dex_armor
    9 fix_con_bonus_hp
    10 fix_asf_bard
    11 fix_spell_moeb
    12 fix_druid_armorprofs
    13 data_allyx
    14 protos
    15 Cujos_mod
    16 newspell
    17 control_files
    18 There's Something About Mary

I am also starting the came using 'TOEEFE Simple Edition v2.2' as my frontend.

    Did I miss anything?

Anyways, I'm off to play the game now... hopefully all the patches worked. :headfones

You installed the control files, but not the 46mb of sounds that make up the voices themselves :D

18 downloads... meh, we can go higher than that!!! :transform

Ooops... I will look around for them, thanks. ;)

EDIT: Ok, just got them all... what do I do with 'sneaky dwarf' and 'undomiel'?

Is my PC sounds directory supposed to start at 22? Where are 1-21?

The first 22 sound sets (they start at 0) are the game defaults, 22 - 53 were added by shiningted. And there is enough room for another 10 (I Think).

Ah, I see. I take it that the first 22 sound sets are on the play CD then? They arent in my speech\pcvoice folder.

They (along with much of the game) are in the whopping great files in the main folder called 'dat files'. Those are just giant cab files with everything important tucked away inside them so people can't fiddle with it idlely. Of course, u can unpack them if u have to.

The dwarf goes in 45 like the zip name says, Undomiel goes, ummmm, wherever it says in the name of the zip file ;)

    Hope you like them!

Yeah, I managed to figure it out... Undomiel wasnt labeled, but I just put her in the only folder that was empty [except for the ones at the end].

That 'Giant' mod is pretty cool, kind of irritating how he constantly shakes the screen though. Does that have any effect on sneaking around or is it just for fun?

I used the Undomiel voice for my CE Elf Rogue and am loving it [what game is she from btw?]... I did notice that one of the things she says still has the background music though, all the rest seem to be fine. I also made a NE Dwarf Druid and gave him one of the new dwarf voices.

The Dwarf looks hilarious next to the Giant as I set his height to the minimum for a Dwarf. :p

I was thinking about making a drow, but there does not seem to be a drow portrait available and I'm not sure how I would make the skin of his model black... any ideas? Is there any way I can add him in the middle of the game if I so choose? If I do I think I will make him a wizard or sorcerer.

So, right now I am using my Rogue, Druid and 'Giant' and am planning on picking up some NPCs along the way, so I suppose I should set the party to 3+5 or 4+4 if I can add the Drow later on.

PS. That little kid that tells you about the changes to the game and keeps referring to 'his master' is very cool.

PPS. I'm having a little trouble getting the Something About Mary mod to work. What application should I use to edit protos.tab? I tried opening it in notepad, but finding the column numbers is going to kill me if I do it that way. :dead:

PPPS: [last one, I promise] Both the Giant and my Dwarf have high strength, but they are already overburdened when just carrying the stuff you get from the priest you kill in the first scene... I guess 18 str doesnt mean much any more.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

What I'll do is give Allyx a clap, the soundtrack-removing was obviously a hit

Edit: something about mary requires the Phalzyr's Proto-Ed to work. How far into the game are you? If you have not got to Nulb yet, don't worry about it too much, there is an update coming out in a day or two in my new mod which will update SaM among other things and solve all your problems (and will be compatable with your current game).

I've just sent Shiningted some new sounds for Undomiel (A.K.A Arwen) and Ethel (A.K.A Aragorn), when he updates the download site You can fix that problem.
