Hi guys, I'm just replaying this game after a two year absence, and the thing that has brought me back is the work you mods have put into resolving its many issues. So, great work, and thanks. One thing that still bugs me about this game (and for once it's not the bugs) is the random encounters. In particular, the way Survival works (I think that's the relevant skill). If you have the option to Engage or Avoid a random encounter, then if you choose to Engage you shouldn't be thrust into the middle of combat surrounded by monsties. It would be brilliant if this could be modded so that if you choose Engage, then the encounter generated at least with the monsters and the PCs some distance apart. And really the party shouldn't be surprised or flat footed, given that you had the opportunity to Avoid the encounter altogether. Is this possible/too hard/ridiculous? James
It is already implemented (the distance part at least). Perhaps your survival skill is just not high enough yet for you to notice. Mind you, that is only for actual random encounters, not sleep encounters.
Oops! Thanks. I play Ironman, so I was too scared to check. I forgot the first rule of IT whinges, if you can think of it, someone probably already has. I'll have to find some whimpy random encounter that I'm prepared to try it out on. Apologies, JD
