    Reinstalled the game yesterday, applied patch 1, patch 2, Co8-5.0.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2.
    Started the game and everything went ok playing the Co8-module.

    Today I can't start the Frontend properly.

    First I got two error messages about folder being used by another program which is just plain wrong.

    Deleted the ini-file and gotthe Frontend to start. However the very second I select the Co8-module the Frontend crashes with this error message:

    ---------------------------

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
    application or machine (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
    rather than being handled by this dialog.

    ---------------

    Have checked the folder Frontend and that is empty by me,

    What's going on here?

    That the Frontend folder is empty sounds like the problem. I think the reason it is empty is because of the first crash. Most likely some other app (like an anti-virus app) was accessing the ToEE root directory. Unfortunately, the only solution I know of for an empty Frontend folder is a complete wipe and reinstall. The good new is that you can most likely save and reuse your saved games.

    Should he have applied the 5.0.2 patch over the 5.0.1 patch?

    No, he shouldn't have. It probably wouldn't hurt (much) but there is no reason to apply 5.0.1 if you are going to apply 5.0.2. It still wouldn't have caused the Front End issue though.
