Problem with New Character Portraits

    I'm running Vista 64 bit. Followed your installation guide on here and it works perfectly (THANKS!) running your mod (excellent stuff), and playing through my first time (since its initial release years ago). Only problem is the new character image packs, show up as arrows? Very sad. I've gone through the Front End and selected "all images" and even "original" images, just to see what happens, but I have from what I remember the basic set that comes with the game and a ton of desktop arrows in boxes for the rest- regardless of the option I select.

    I'm a good way through and am thinking of starting an evil story line but would like to see all the portraits before I do that.

    Help? Thanks

    If they are showing up as arrows, they are not installed yet.
    Start game using front-end (creates 300 mb file first time)
    Quit game
    Unzip V&P pack into root directory (open the file in "Atari" file)
    Then Change Portrait Pack before restarting game

    Or wait until the release of the next KotB patch, followed shortly by a ToEE CMF release with a brand new batch of custom pro-grade portraits from our portrait artists in residence, Half Knight and Daadamo. There will be 48 new portraits in all, for a grand total of 84 instead of the current 37 ToEE stock portraits. And it won't be neccesary to install them separately. :)

    Sometime down the line after that, we'll re-release the other portrait packs (converted from BG, IWD, etc.) as installable packages for those that want to play them.

    The portrait pack switchout functionality (or lack thereof) will, incidentally, be a thing of the past at that point.

    Shouldn't be too much longer. ;) There will be a fairly good-sized batch of other new stuff to go with it too.

    It's still not working.

    When I go to unzip it gives me a error from winzip, get the same copying error if I unzip it to my desktop and try to place the files. Saying it cannot create the files.

    I deactivated the module.
    reran ToEEFE and had it create the 300mb file
    Went to unzip the file.
    Got the same WinRAR Diagnostic Message.
    But apparently the Data is *there*, as it asks me if I wish to overwrite the files.

    I have no portrait pack options in ToEEFE now just "all portraits" shows up. But I still have the arrows for character creation, even while launching the Co8 mod from the Front End.

    Seriously theharlequinsid, just forget about them for now. Portrait switchout functionality has been buggy since it's inception, and it's not going to get any better. It's only going to go away.

    Play the oldschool way until we release the new portraits mod and subsequent old fashioned other-game portrait packs.

    I had similar problems- but I played a couple years ago and had the Portraits working (but I don't remember how!) I know I got them unZipped now, but no bang :(

    I liked the new portraits, and yeah Gaear, I could play with the stock until the new stuff comes out, but what I REALLY wanted was the alternative VOICES.. those I miss the most..

    I amd trying to muddle through it and get it right with some PM help, but if y'all can help solve it for everyone here... all the better!!

    Re: additional voicesets, I think some of those will enter the stock mod at some point through a regular CMF update. So after that they will just magically be available to you all the time. :)
