    is there any that doesnt overide the standard portraits? really annoyed me when i installed a BG pack and lost old portraits..

    Sadly, I have the same problem.
    The only solution looks like to put in the portraits folder the new portraits that you want to use and to rename them like the portaits that you never used. Not effective as others, but it looks like the only solution that effectively works fine.
