In the ToEE Front End X there is a menu of options. I am trying to find out exactly what these options do. Max HP for NPCs (from Level) and MaxHP for NPCs (from Hit Dice): Does this only effect monsters, or does it also effect your parties NPC's hit points? If you set the Level Cap (Set Level Cap) to 20 do you also have to click on Use Level Cap? What is the use for Set the Delayed Blast Fireball Delay, and what is the recommended value for this? What is the recommended value for Max Number of Players in the Party? Thank you.
In the readme of the TOEE X: ""Max HP for NPCs (from levels)" makes the game always give maximum HP for NPC companions at levelup based on their le- vel, "Max HP for NPCs (from HD)" is similar but does calculations based on HD, "Show Exact Hit Points for NPCs" shows the exact number of HP for NPC companions in the game, as opposed to just showing a HP line, "Max HP Per Level" always provides max rolls for player's HP upon levelup, " The larger the number the later the Delayed Blast Fireball will be delayed. Very high may mean that the fireball explodes at a point where the enemies have already left. The original game had up to 5 player characters + 3 NPC slots. Some situations in the game require you to have 1 (or more) empty spaces to work (e.g. the two NPC´s in the inn in Hommlet will join only if your party has not more than 4 members and at other places you can escort prisoners out of their prison if you have the space in your party. So I would always leave at least 1 slot for NPC´s and not use them all for PC´s. As there is already a discussion thread perhaps continue the discussion there if there are still questions? http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6579
Thank you, and I apologize for starting a new thread. I only did so because I searched everywhere and couldn't find a description of the options - except, of course, that I completely forgot to look at the readme. Doh! Again, I apologize and I thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and pointing me in the right direction.
