Is there a downloadable players guide or something like it? Say just a baisic storyline and some hints and tips. Nothing big like GameBanshee, just something to get the "newbies" on the right track. Judging from all the new posts recently it appears something should be available, or refer them to the other game sites. I could do it, I have lots of time on my hands but I'm not sure if there is enough need or interest.
i think it's a good idea. there's a walkthrough at sorcerers place, but it's a little out dated. if youy have the time, i would say go for it.
But they already published the Player's Gui... oh, that kind of players guide... gamefaqs.com usually has pretty good info, I downloaded a faq/walkthrough a few weeks ago and, though a bit ambiguous with regard to some quests, I found it to be suitably helpful.
There are several good gamesites with extensive walkthru's, maps, faq, etc and links to this site.. That's how I got here. This site is pretty much dedicated to technical issues, modding, fixing bugs ,etc. I just wonder if the people who ask gameplay questions used the other sites. Spoilers and play issue stuff seems to be frowned upon. So do we just refer these new people back to the other sites? I've noticed some returnee's who gave up a year or 2 ago are asking questions. It appears that this site feels there are plenty of other sites with gameplay help and it's not needed here.
I also found this site through gamefaqs, but I think there's good reason to consider a new guide,namely, Livonya and other modders. Some people will no doubt find it useful to have a guide that covers the new additions, as I occasionally would myself! Also, this site sometimes has a more personal feel to it, so someone could read your guide, then ask you questions related to it in the same breath, so to speak. I don't see a problem with it, apart from ensuring a fairly complete and up-to-date picture, and your time of course. Something that helps people enjoy the game has to be good, -and it'd be a first, with room to add new content whenever. Just my thoughts anyway!
A lot of the sites have detailed walkthru's but they never tell/or explain how to play the game. Livonya and Co. have spent an awful lot of time on correcting, improving and adding new dialogue. That's the key. Read the dialogue and it will take you where you need to go and you might find some interesting "things" there. Like a lot of new players, I went for the walkthru's and spoilers and hacked and slashed my way thru. I just recently really learned to play the game. With Liv's mods you have to read and think and hacknslash might not work so good for you. Sooner or later a lot of things will have to be updated. Maybe some other sites will write new, updated walkthru's. Time will tell.
