Once upon a time, in Cepheid Variable at Texas A&M University, we tried to figure out a way to produce character stats based on our actual selves. It was based on AD&D (1) rules and is kind of simplistic: STR - # lbs can military press 10 times in one set INT - 10 + .2 x (IQ - 100) [Stanford-Benet] WIS - 10 + (Age - 12) / 5 up to racial max DEX - # seconds can stand on tip-toe (heel off floor) on one leg - no touching - average for multiple attempts - 18 max (everyone got good at this) CON - # of laps around football field track in 30 minutes CHAR - voted on by other players Any stat that was "unknown" could be 10. I think the idea was ripped off from a Dragon magazine article, which I have never seen. It's kind of stupid, since you play D&D to get away from being the loser that you are. What are some other ideas for generating these stats?
Waattuuupppp nigggas!!! I can't believe it's been 11 years since I signed up with you all. I've been off since I've been on windows 7 but decided I missed TOEE. man ur web site has changed.l anyways, I used to have a program for front end that could generator characters, I like starting characters that I've had way back when I used to DnD. I can't find any files from my old TOEE game (CD went bad). Any way to generate character stats? I found something I posted for the same question on starting money, about 10 years ago. hey, great job on the web site and making the keep on the border lands. I remember u guys just making it.
so your starting gold would be something like this: (Yearly Taxable Income - all taxes) / 2 (if married) / #oflkids / 100 To use easy numbers: ($100,000 - $60,000) / 2 / 4 / 100 = 50 gold to start out your adventuring career For me that sounds about right. I make a decent income, but my wallet is always empty. My wallet appears to be my wife's personal ATM machine.
