The game, not the movie. Both have been mentioned sparsely in the threads, but I was wondering how many have actually played the Pathfinder game? My group is draggin me into their other GMs new Pathfinder game next week, and I've downloaded all the pertinent PDFs to read up, but I would like a few opinions from those who have actually played it, if you will. So far, it seems like a decent successor to 3.5 Ed, with some of the better aspects of 2.5 Ed thrown in, like favored terrain for Rangers and such. So, what are your thoughts?
I liked 3.5 very much so I'm not entirely partial , but in my opinion Pathfinder is very slight step down . CMD is a very clunky mechanic and it seems to make tripping and disarms and whatnot too easy , which I think was the opposite of what they intended . We had a short lived character who was built for sundering who was abandoned because any fight aginst oppponents wielding weapons was hardly any challenge at all . In general they made some good changes and some bad but they were all pretty small and did nothing to fix any of the issues with 3.5 .
