Hi. Cool to see Co8 is still alive and well!

Anyway, I loaded up TOEE and threw on the CO8 5.0 mod, and played for a couple of days before i noticed the 5.0.5 patch, so i loaded it up. It works fine EXCEPT all my previous saves don't work! Do i have to start a new game everytime i patch, or is this a glitch?
Or is it written somewhere obvious that i have to start a new game, and i'm just a clod too lazy to search for it.
[I just found the "docs" section in the TOEE folder, and found that yes - you have to start a new game, and yes - I am a lazy clod]:Being_a_s

Second thing... I'd like to start off the new assassins quest from Gremag, but how do i assassinate the carpenter without getting the town against me?

Last thing... where/ what is the message to Lareth from the drow? When i confront Lareth, i have a dialoge about a message, but it doesn't go anywhere.

    Thanks a bunch!

I just walked in and killed him, no issues. But if you're trying to kill the carpenter I can understand why you're having problems as it's the cabinet maker that's supposed to die.

    Hi Saul -

The drow/Lareth stuff is an example of some elements of the mod that are still beta-ish. I don't think that particular angle was ever finished, so there's probably no resolution possible atm.

The mod is in the process of being polished up as far as that and a lot of other things go, but it will be some time before a new modpack comes out.

As far as patches go, if you update from the 5.0.0 modpack to the 5.0.5 patch, then yes you'll have to start a new game. But if you just update the patch itself down the line (like when the next CMF patch is released), you most often won't have to. (If it is neccesary, we'll say so in the release post.) However, it's generally the safest route to start new games following updates anyway.
