Hi. Decided to play TOEE again. Installed game and patch 5.0. Tried to install 5.0.4, but I'm not sure that I did it correctly. When the game starts it says 5.0, not 5.0.4. How can I tell if I have set up 5.0.4 correctly? And if I haven't, how do I do it?
On the right-hand side of the frontend menu, under module description, it should say "patched to 5.0.4, such and such date". If it doesn't, go back and start a 5.0 game and, go to character generation, then escape and quit. Start again and when you get to the frontend, deactivate the 5.0 and quit. Now, install 5.0.4 CMF from the ToEE root directory by extract here, then yes to all. There are precise download and install procedures in the download section below. Print a copy and start over if you have to.
be sure to read it carefully...i didnt the first time n had to uninstall and reinstall the entire program which was a bummer because i had characters i really liked
You can find characters in directory ...\Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\Co8-5.0.0\players no need to loose them during uninstall. PS. I used to edit files located there, because random generated attributes are too generous for me and a bit boring - I prefer point-buy ablilities with 28 points to spend .
