I really feel stupid for opening up so many threads complaining about bugs, but please bear with me: All of a sudden my party stops moving towards the designated location every few seconds. They just stop running as if somebody started talking to them and I have to reclick everytime. Now, this only happens during the day. I noticed because I was staying at the Welcome Wench and left it at differenct times of the day. At night movement is perfectly normal.

Could it be that this has something to do with the assassination attempt by rannos & gremag I've been reading about? I think an assassin is supposed to jump u when u exit the Inn or something. I recently dropped by at the traders place laughing at them cause I had double crossed them and they told me to watch my back (...outside of homlett, but still...). I can imagine that this has activated the assassination script, but it's somehow bugged and the assassin never shows up while the script keeps halting my party every second to initiate a conversation. Could it be??

An your characters get unselected too?

Yeah, I get this, if you can manage change maps, move a little bit at a time, (go in a house or different area) that'll usually sort it but it can be a pain..

The asassins didn't show up for me either... but I've screwed up a lot of the questing, especially the temple and Burne.

This happens to me fairly often, I end up trying to get into the nearest house, and then coming back out of it. Often that fixes it, or just saving after getting into the house and reloading.

Only seems to happen in Hommlet.

This is common and we call it "Jerkstop". When it happens, the movement command is prematurely terminated. Leaving the map does stop it.

It has been theorized that too many character animations can cause jerkstop. By unequipping cloaks, robes, and crafted magic weapons while in town can help. It seems to happen more often in central Homlett near the Inn. Possible the smith's constant hammering is adding to the problem. By using the world map to travel to northen Homlett outside the church, you can re-equip your stuff, then travel to whereever in the world you plan to go.

    I've never experienced this...

But I have encountered my own movement problem that is a bit of an inconvenience. With my whole group selected, they sometimes have difficulty moving to another place on the map I've chosen. I always assumed this stemmed from the waypoint having to many changes of direction to make a viable path for the UI to compute. This forces me to make waypoints closer to their current location before selecting their final destination.

This mainly occurs in Homlett, near the Braumeister's house.

oh, so THAT's what jerkstop is. I thought jerkstop was when the game just froze up for 10-30 seconds, which always seemed to happen when map panning or moving around in an area where movement paths were narrow and limited (fire node in particular.)

I've had this in hommlet too but only once, and I didn't realise it was what everyone else called jerkstop.

Yes. Jerkstop is "new" and was introduced by Co8 in the early version 5's. Lag has always been there.
