    Help!

I cant get past the Evoker fight in Chapter 3.

I keep winning the battle, but the game crashes upon save. Sometimes the save will take, but when I try to load that save, it crashes then.

This was happening in an earlier fight and the culprit was my wizard's Lesser Globe of Invulnerability. When I forwent the Globe, the problem disappeared.

Unfortunately, I cant turn off the Evoker's Globe, and the game still crashes upon save even if I kill him before saving.

I was able to turn the Evoker's Globe "off" by slinging a dispel magic.

However, once he charges into my line, the game starts randomly crashing.

I've tried to progress at least 6 times since my last good save, but I think I'm going to have to go back to an earlier save and see what happens if I cast no area effect spells at all.

The problem is definitely a mismatch between Globe and area spells.

I did not cast any area spells, and was able to get through with only one random crash.

I use these area spells (stinking cloud, grease, consecration, etc.) often and have only had problems in fights involving Globe.

BTW, there is a random Ildriss floating around during this fight, does not bother anyone. I assume something is not working there.

More fun with Globe in PalCo:

Bad: when cast, Globe suppresses 1st-3rd level buffs, even though its not supposed to.

Worse: when the Evoker charged my line with Globe "on", he suppressed all my Paladin's buffs.

This was correct @Sitra Achara . I had followed your advice that FrontEnd would avoid any Temple+ files (Overrides were empty regardless). Making a new, clean install did fix the problem. I wish I understood my problem better in order to give you quality feedback about Temple+ not mixing well with FrontEnd.

I really wish Paladin Cove would work smoothly on Temple+ because I love the amount of control that your creation gives the amateur modder. Thanks again, man, for all the fun since your Reactive Temple Mod so many years ago. At any rate, at least now any feedback I can provide might be helpful to Marc if he does return.

I don't recall anyone having this situation happen. My characters tried using the evil sword against the rust monster, which destroyed it. There are two questions:
    1. Can a rust monster turn a magical weapon into rust. Aren't they rust-proof? EDIT: In 3.5 Magic Items are treated as any other item vis-a-vis Rust Monsters. Cool!
    2. Assuming that the sword can be destroyed in this way, should the quest become botched or completed? There is no dialog for this contingency of reporting that "Ummm....A rust monster ate my quest item."

I "botched" the evil sword quest because I refused to hand it over to the shady guy at the inn. I have a feeling Marc wants you to hand the sword over for some story reason, so I suspect it will be "botched" no matter what else you do with it.

Yeah, that quest is a little odd for 'good' players that don't want to deal with a shady character.

In the hands of a neutral it is a +4 sword, but why does a regular halflings quarterstaff cos a few hundred gold?

I remember that quest, seemed straightforward at first but by the end I had no idea who to trust or if I was doing the right thing. Very well written.

Suggestions for Marc whenever he returns to us:
    1. I like a quest that has an ambiguous ending. How does Sense Motive create resolution? How does a Paladin affect this kind of quest. My fighter will become a paladin at level 3, which might be before getting to the quest destination.
    2. Perhaps the Rust Monster causes the quest to become botched or completed. Perhaps it already does if the party shows up at the inn without the sword?
EDIT: The actual quest situation at the rendez-vous was totally beyond my expectation! Great story telling Marc. My Evil party is really seeing a world of dark shades of gray.

Do you have a script for weak travelers fleeing when all hell breaks loose inside an inn? This could include the seamen, and botch the quest. Alternatively, the seamen could be told to wait outside. Otherwise, it's pretty hardcore that several people die up or downstairs and everyone at the bar is chill - unless, of course, they are also badasses (no dialogue implies a mook, which is very deceptive, Marc). My killers could then get a drink or one of the rooms that isn't covered in gore, which is just ice-cold hilarity, which must be from at least one film. Sadly, my party wants no publicity to follow them back to PalCo, so all of the innocents must die. AMAZING, Marc!

If I remember correctly, my Paladin's perception checks were waving red flags all over the place. Or maybe it was just my inner Paladin. Either way, what they were asking me/him to do just didnt feel "right".

I remember someone complaining about DR10/silver wererats in SGoS, which was difficult for sure! In PC, I tried my best to get XP in town before going underground, yet I still had to face the first two wererats at 1st level. Sleep got one and the other one was damn hard to bring down. Went back to town to levelup and go shopping - not a single silver weapon! I made it to 2nd level before the group in the last cave - again, VERY hard. The last fight with the leaders is almost impossible for these reasons:
    1. There is only one silver weapon in protos - and it is bundled with an anarchic weapon. Btw Could alchemical silver exist in ToEE?
    2. Very few masterwork weapons are available - I assume until this quest is complete.
    3. I exited the ladder, went back to town, was told there must be leaders, came back along the shoreline at 5am (but my wizard and familiar were approaching from inland, which caused no spawn), had to go underground then come up and got ambushed after dialog. It would have triggered if group was together. This type of encounter penalizes a cautious, stealthy party as the trigger negates use of Spot and Listen skills. Or am I wrong?
    4. The leader in human form should not have DR /silver (together with AC23). This should be a benefit to attacking early before NPC goes into were-form although, technically, it is only a standard action to transform during combat. I can't find a secondary protos for this particular leader, so what is the difference if fighting before or after shapechanging? EDIT What's really weird is that I removed the DR on the protos for Wh------, but it continues to exist. Quit game, deleted the DR, saved, restarted. I'm looking at the other creatures on protos with the same DR - none fit the profile. The captain next to the leader appears as Smugglers Captain, which in protos refers to a 12th level fighter. However, when I see the dice rolls, it is clearly the 5th level Captain R------. So, why the discrepancies?
I also need help with the quest from the foreign speaking captain who wants a stealthy party to watch her ship at night. So we did! I tried Pass Time - nothing happened. How to trigger? EDIT I see that although the captain said I have a stealthy group. In fact, I do not. None of my PCs meet the minimum stealth skill requirements

2.yep, the one stores assistant, the leather worker, the woodworker, the carpet merchant, and occasionally one of the Barrels.

    3. I go a ways NW of the ladder during the day and wait til night then move my highest cha with the highest initiative mod slowly closer till I trigger the encounter this spreads the opponents out.

    4. I think the author customized some things.
