Any word on marc's new release with bug fixes? He mentioned wanting to finish this by March, but that was a few months ago.
Having not seen Marc active in a while, I assume he has bigger fish to fry IRL. Wishing him well. Anyway, not sure I want to restart my game from scratch until the T+ compatibility issues are ironed out.
This seems to have been dropped, but its important as Keela (sp) is the only arcane spellcasting NPC. She is certainly leveling up on her own, as her HP are increasing steadily and her attacks have increased. However, her spell list has not expanded, nor have her spellslots increased. She has 30k xp, for 8th level (63 hp) but her spells track as 4th level Bard (2 first level spells/day).
After taking quite a break from playing Paladin's Cove, I came back today to face Spoiler the beholder. I honestly don't know what I did differently, but Spoiler I had no problem with the encounter this time. The beholder got off a bunch of rays in the first 3 rounds but all of my characters made their saves against the really bad stuff. Then I got my fighter into melee range and it went down. Only to discover there was a second one that spawned thereafter. Fortunately, this one was already close to my paladin and after a round my fighter got there too, both hasted at this point. The last few times I tried this encounter I got wiped. This time it was more or less a breeze. I didn't pre-buff except to start the encounter with a flame strike that did not do all that much damage. RNG, I suppose. Anyway, hope to get a crack at the rest of this particular quest in the next few days if work and family obligations don't intervene.
I think I've hit a Temple+ bug and I'm not sure how to proceed. On page 21 of this thread Marc mentioned that "Un-equiped, naked, or un-spawned NPC's and monsters" are a Temple+ issue. My problem is: Spoiler After collecting the four magic elemental stones in the temple, then being teleported to the area with the original Temple of Elemental Evil, every NPC and humanoid enemy is naked and has no equipment. Meaning they have to use unarmed attacks; even the spellcasters just run up and pummel my party. This also means, however, that I can't collect the 3 keys needed to get into the dungeon under the Temple. I had a dialog option when dealing with the gypsy leader to "take the key," but it doesn't show up in my inventory or in the list of keys under that tab. I made the deal with Scropp to deliver a letter to the dwarves and was supposed to get his key, but apparently not. I then went back to the dwarves, who'd said that if I came back with the two other keys, they'd give me the third - I did not get any dialog option when I returned to tell them I had the other two keys, and since I figured there'd be a fight anyway, I just initiated it. None of the dwarves had anything on them except for Throndoril, who had the letter I'd delivered from Scorpp. I'll read on from page 21 and see if anyone figured out a way around this, but does anyone know a quick fix? If not I'll probably just reload a save from just before I entered the Spoiler Temple maps and see if that fixes it.
Reloading did not fix it. So I started a new game and rolled 5 new characters. Everybody in Paladin's Cove was naked. Probably I should reinstall everything, I guess.
Naked people was reported a few pages ago and it seems to be linked to the version of T+ being used. Scroll back a few pages to see the posts about it.
Is it possible you rolled back to an earlier Temple+ by accident? The nakedness was fixed in one of the newer releases IIRC
Thanks, guys. I'll try to install the latest version of T+ and see if that works. Edit: can anyone point me to the latest version? Edit, never mind, I think I found .97. Edit the third: and I looked back as suggested on this thread and found the answer is apparently that I need to revert to .95 for this particular bug. I believe I already had .97 installed... Edit again: uninstalled Temple+ and reinstalled using .95. First map on reload everything was normal. NPCs/enemies had clothes, etc. Went to another map through a transition door and the gypsies were good too. Went to fight the bandits and naked humanoids, no loot. Reloaded from a save before I experienced the issue Spoiler just before fighting the beholder & his friends and everybody had their clothes on. Game crashed when I cast chain lightning. I think I'll try starting a new game and see if it works but if not it's a full reinstall I guess.
I am a lazy man and decided that I would just uninstall ToEE and reinstall from GoG, uninstall Temple+ and reinstall .95 but not uninstall and reinstall C08. So I reloaded a save and now no NPCs will interact with me. They are all clothed and appear normal, but merchants just say, "good to see you again," or some such and will not trade. in the ancient temple, the Spoiler ghost that's supposed to teleport me to the Temple does the same thing. My laziness is due in part to the fact that installing anything on this ancient desktop computer takes a long time, but I am now going to uninstall C08 and Temple+ and the base game and reinstall everything and see if I can get it working again.
Recognizing that half of my posts here over the last couple of years have illustrated the fact that yes, there is such a thing as a stupid question, I am at a loss and I cannot Google my way out of it and so please help. I uninstalled ToEE, C08 and Temple+, then reinstalled ToEE (GoG version), Temple+ (version from this month) and Co8 (new content version) in that order. I deleted Paladin's Cove and then re-downloaded it and activated it. I started a new game and confirmed there were no saved games available; I created a new party (including one character with the best stats I've ever rolled) but every NPC was naked when I started the game. I must not have uninstalled everything but I can't figure out what I've missed. I have a folder on my desktop with some Paladin's Cove saves from another computer, but I don't see how that can be the problem. This is an old desktop running Windows 7.
I would recommend playing without T+ for now. Ive been playing vanilla with an eye toward activating T+ after version 1.1 drops.
Thanks, that worked well enough for me to start a new game. Unfortunately I got unplayable freezing in Paladin's Cove about 15 minutes in. I'll give it another shot and possibly use one of the older saves I have to see what happens. Other than that I'm just going to wait until I'm not trying to play the game on a toaster. I hope Marc is doing well and still working on the final version.
