I know that Opportunist is listed in the buglist as not working, but some claim it works fine?

Anyway, I had my Rogue 10 take the feat, and lo and behold - it didn't work. Never got those AoOs, except once -- it fired off in between two attacks in my Rogue's full attack, on a target that no one else had attacked yet. I wasn't able to reproduce it though. So the one time it actually worked was when it wasn't supposed to

I just need to know, is this feat supposed to be working in any form (with Co8 5) or is it just borked?

AFAIK there has been no successful attempt at fixing this bug.

ok, little bit of background - i'd originally used opportunist on a halfling rogue, and i remember it acting oddly but i definitely remember it working at least some of the time.

    just did some testing:

tried with an elf rogue, didnt have any luck (didnt test long though) decided to try with my 'original' setup - halfling rogue wielding a dagger.

what i found - opportunist works, it will launch after both an allied attack, as well as off the rogue's own attacks (though to be honest, im not sure if its meant to launch off the rogue's own really...)

    BUT

it doesnt work very often :)

i found that when i buffed up my rogue to level ten, and made a low level helper barbarian, took them both to the moathouse, that opportunist would kick in on the first barbarian attack, or the first rogue attack that i made.

it would then CEASE to work.

killing the monster, and thus ending combat, then finding a new one to fight, still no more opportunist attacks.

traveling back to town, encounter wandering monsters before getting there - no opportunist attacks.

got to town, talked to spugnoir for emridy meadows location, travel to emridy meadows, opportunist attack on first monster (tried with barb - worked, reloaded and tried with rogue - worked), no more after the first one as before though.

went back to town, rested to heal my half dead barbarian, went back to emridy -> opportunist on first connecting attack, whether rogue delivered or barb delivered, after that no more.

soooooooooooooo..... thats a longwinded way of saying

opportunist seems to work after leaving town ONCE and then stop working...

is there some condition that might be getting stuck somehow? ie. one that gets cleared when you enter/leave town :p

    any thoughts?

At first I thought it needed the enemy to be flatfooted, being that it only worked in the first round. Still, you say that it didn't work with wandering monsters. Maybe -really, no idea here :D-... could it be that's somehow listed as an extraordinary ability, which could be used only once per day? That could explain why it worked when you rested, as if it was -say- a barbarian's Rage.
