Does anyone know how accurate they are? I've taken a few but I'm not sure how much to trust the results.
Very low. A true IQ test has to be administered by a trained professional. Even a true IQ test isn't accurate at very high or low scores. When someone claims an IQ of 180, they are lying.
Mensa offers o home one for about $8.95 or $9.95 that is said to be right inline with their official one.
O yah: my friends and I looked at one years ago, the answer to one of the questions was "theodicy". I knew that because I had learned it a week before. If you had asked me two weeks before I would not have known it, but I don't believe my IQ went up in between.
the other thing with IQ is that 100 is always average, so the more people who score high the more their score gets adjusted to the new average. (altho if you scored between 85 and 114 you're average IQ anyway and might as well have scored anywhere in that bracket)
Then say your IQ is 125. That's in the top 5% of real IQ test scores. It's equivalent to a D&D Intelligence of 15. You play D&D. That's a strong indicator of intelligence.
