Okay, so I enjoy a good unbridled worship of Erythnul with my bad-ass crew, but this has left me with the following problems (questions) Hommlet is slaughtered (including Terjon + co) and I never spoke to Smyth or Terjon, only Tarim. (The deklo grove no longer has that drow to fight? shame...) So what are my chances of ever getting Emridy Meadows put on my map or getting to Verbobonc? I can talk to the scar-faced dude in the Waterside motel about it, but don't seem to meet the prerequisites to merely ask "Say, where is Emridy Meadows?" I just disliked having to run off to certain areas and talk to people first, when my god was compelling me to kill... Any and all help is met with Muchos thankies (Using 5.9.0 NC Beta)
I believe that killing Brother Smyth before you talk to him (and get all of the lead-ins from him for all of the new maps) prevents you from being able to go to any of the new maps in the game (i.e. Welkwood Bog, Hickory Branch, Arena of Heroes, Moathouse Respawn, and Verbobonc). One or more of the NPCs in the Inn of the Welcome Wench will reveal the Moathouse. I think Turuko (Skinny monk) will (and maybe even Zert and Spugnoir (Sage) as well). One or more of the NPCs in the Inn of the Welcome Wench will reveal Emridy Meadows. I think Spugnoir (Sage) will. I believe that the only new maps that you can open up by talking to NPCs in Nulb are Imeryds Run and the Temple of Elemental Evil. Terjon would have revealed Emridy Meadows to you if you hadn't slaughtered him. If you are desperate, then you could use the console cheat codes to reveal Emridy Meadows or any other map on your world map. Below is how you are supposed to play the game in order to experience all of the game's new content: Originally posted by Gaear: I feel the exact same way as you. One thing that I don't like about this game is that you have to talk to certain NPCs or use certain items (books, notes) in order to reveal locations on your world map that you are then able to travel to. I wish that this game used the same game mechanic for most of the regions/zones/maps in Baldur's Gate where you just had to travel to the edge of a map, and it would allow you to travel to the next adjacent map. That was 1 of the things that made Baldur's Gate such a superb game! Revealing maps that way would allow an evil party to explore all of the maps in the computer game The Temple of Elemental Evil (no matter who the evil party killed).
Thanks man, that helps a lot. Sucks now that most of my party are tenth level and now they can't get to any of the new content. To be fair, the main reason I slaughter so much (aside from the fun aspect) is that I detest the quests in Hommlet. Ah well, time to start a Good Party I guess... -JRC
