Newbee be gentle

Hello everyone I was directed here by Gaear (a sweet person). I am curious about the patches and something about an equipment.mes file and a dll file.
I have installed the ToEE 2 patch and the Co8 3.0.4 beta patch. Do I need the new 3.0.4 patch? If so, will I have to start my game over. I just cleared the moathouse and killed Lerroth. Also, what are the other two and how do you install them? Thanks in advance.

 

Thanks I am happy to be here. What does this mod do? Maybe if I start over I can get some stronger players. My guys are kinda weak. They must take after their creater.

Anyways, liviona's mod supposedley makes things a tad bit more difficult, because it actually fixes so many bugs in the AI. (previously many barbarians used an AI script written for rogues instead of barbarians, which means they did not use their abilities).
I am finding the game EASIER then before, but then again, this time I am an experienced player, with a far better designed party, with very high stats, and I am playing as evil (so I get to do things like recruiting elmo, taking him to a secluded spot, and killing him for his XP and magical items)

BTW, should I uninstall everything and start fresh since I installed the Atari patch 2 and the CO8 bata? Oh and my e-mail notification isn't working.

 

Wellcomed among us. Since you are the last of many that are asking it, why we just don't create an official Co8 FAQ? It would be easy to update together with official Liv's X.0 relases and we could explain the several things:

- links to downloadable files and order of setup
- a brief list of changes and add-ons
- explanations of some unclear basic D&D rules for newbees
- links to tools and modding tutorial

Once done, it will be almost forever

the reason you should start again is because not doing so could bite you in the rear.

Sure you havent missed much plot wise... but do you want to risk getting to a point a few weeks from now where you are about to fight the final boss and find the game will not progress plot because of an incompatibility issue? You will not be able to fix such an issue. Restart now and save yourself the trouble, cause trust me, you will have issues, they just might not be gamebreaking.

Mine didnt break the plot, but they were kind of cheap... they broke the money and crafting system, so i accidently ended with weapons with +15 worth of enchantment... and error numbers for my money, made the last leg of the game abit boring. And I couldn't avoid them because I HAD to craft some items... I had a ton of money and alot of XP to spend... but the same thing happened whenever i did. And plus there were some other bugs

You know I think your right about that. Hey Gaear I installed Liv's mod but which switch (yeah say that three times fast) do you use to go up over level 10? -maxlevel 10 or the ] at the end of the path statement in the shortcut properties? Thanks. (Tingle) oh:

 

if i remember right when you install Livs mod it automaticlly removes the level cap and if you want it back you have to put it back in yourself.
