I'm going to ask a few questions that are probably pretty silly to some. I have two bugs I cannot solve. NPC looting. I have installed all the patches listed in the thread "current mods and patches" but my NPC (Otis) will not sell anything. His inventory is full, he's overburdened but I always get the pop up box "item transfer error" "NPC will not drop that item" Ok/Cancel when I try to sell or drop anything in his inventory. Not a huge deal, but annoying Cleric spell fizzle This has happened 2 or 3 times. I instruct my cleric to cast a heal spell on one of my characters. He casts, there is a flash of light and nothing. No error message, no miscast message and no HPs regained. The spell is lost. Cannot finish fight In the Fire Temple, level 3 I cannot get past the first round of combat. I had Prince Thrommel in my group at one point and after he would complete his first round of attacks he would just stop. Action meter is 0, cannot <space> to next character in the initative sequence, cannot even pull up the game menu with <esc>. Everyone just stands there. I have to ctrl-alt-delete shutdown the game. How do I get to 4th floor ? I can't find any stairs or other means of going any further down from level 3, everything goes up. Thanks for your help.
You may have 1 or more bad downloads, or not installed properly. You have to get co83.0.4 and temple.dll or if your using Liv1.5 you don't need temple .dll. The mods have to be installed correctly or you'll have problems. I don't recommend Liv's mods for new players, but go for it. Just follow the instuctions closely. Get a back-up weapon for whoever has fragarach/scather and use them in the fire temple/firenode later on. You can use Drifters humble npc mod to fix the looting and Otis. DO NOT use atari3 at all. When you have multiple bugs/problems it's best to delete the saved games and start a new game or uninstall and start from scratch, making very sure you install the patches/mods correctly and in the right order
NPC looting Get Drifter's "Humble NPC's patch", to allow full access to npc's inventory. Cleric spell fizzle Sounds like a spell permanancy (if you have livonya's 1.5.1 ask Jaroo about resurrection but choose the spell permanancy option). Cannot finish fight You should un-equip Fragarach from Prince Thrommel when fighting any creatures that damage YOU when YOU attack THEM. EG salamanders deal 1d6 fire damage to you, when you hit them, Fragarach tries to perform an AoO, but can't because the salamander didn't attack - just caused damage! Level 4 You must either go passed the Lamia and Hooting fungi (far bottom of the map) or the two Leucrotta (far right of the map).
Ok thanks for the tips, finally unloaded Otis' inventory LOL I guess I am confused about which level is which. How many levels are there in the ToEE and what level are all the temples on? I thought that was level 3 and there was still another level to go. I haven't seen any of the orbs or any of the other things some posters have talked about. I think I totally blew it on the temple, this is my first time thru the game. I just killed everything and everyone Bad rolling Anyone have this problem? You get into a rut, as in just now I was fighting the Locratta and I cannot hit them. My Pally and Otis both of which have +14/+12 to hit cannot hit the broadside of a barn with a train. I fail every concentration check, every spell failure for armor, every saving throw for 15 rounds in a row. It's like the dice rolling marcro is stuck. This isn't the first time its happened. It very maddening.
