To build an effective 'fighter' out of a Swashbuckler, you need precisely 3 levels of Rogue to access the Daring Outlaw feat that gives your character full Sneak Attack progression. As you say, Open Lock is replaceable with the Knock spell, Search and Disable Device by Knock and by cure/ heal/ restoration/ resting. As I say, I often have a second character with a rogue/sneak attack chassis (either straight rogue, or Assassin at 6 aiming towards being able to cast my own Greater Invisibility spells). Recently I started with 5 rogues at level 1; one became a Swashbuckler to be the main fighter, one took Cleric levels and Sacred Outlaw; one went Arcane Trickster via Unseen Seer, one stayed Rogue throughout, and one became a Bard. Result: 4 characters with full or close to full Sneak Attack damage; plenty of options to flank or be invisible, and slightly limited Arcane and Divine spellcasting options to make the sneaky stuff thematic and an optimum option for the team.

Do those like Sacred Outlaw exist in Temple+. Some doors seem to only be knockable and not open lockable in the Temple dungeon.
Also, why do these Rogues have favoritism for a lot of multiclass feats? I myself prefer a Beguiler over a Rogue.

I don't see Sacred Outlaw. I only see Daring Outlaw. Beguiler with Unseen Seer and Arcane Trickster sounds interesting though since I enjoy Beguiler and it seems more powerful than a Rogue. Hm. Let me see the requirements. Also, wouldn't it be more effective to have 4 rogues and 1 bard if that's the case? Rogue/assassin or swashbuckler or cleric or even unseen seer+arcane trickster at least have rogue as a prerequisite as part of a requirement for feats or prestige classes.

That's interesting. Does that just add one feat? Might wanna try that someday. It also seems people forgot the mods they've installed.

So levels in Unseen Seer and Beguiler doesn't give you the sneak attack reqs to get arcane trickster right? But does the added sneak attack bonus from Unseen Seer give you enough bonus to get you Arcane Trickster with one rogue level?

Wait I just found out that Temple of Elemental Evil is based on 3.0 rushed into 3.5. If it's based on 3.0, would a 3.5 SRD instead of 3.0 SRD be useful? Like this..... http://www.dragon.ee/30srd
