50,000 they are starting to call it. 50,000 from one earthquake. One third of the country's population I heard. I didn't hear what the magnitude was. Was it a 10.0?
I beleive it was exactly 7.0 That can't have been 1/3 of the population though... And we are pledging 100 MILLION for clean up? thats a bit much- if there is only 100,000 people left they better ALL become democrats! What is that, like $100,000 per person for 100,000 people? They could all move here, buy visas and houses (small ones mind you) for that much- in THEIR country- mansions! Can't be 1/3rd of the population...
Haiti HAD a population of 10 Milllion estimated in 2009. so OUR support is about $10 per person- not bad. They will probably get twice that much from all other countries combined. $30 per capita on a relief effort is actually outstanding though.
Ya, but $30 USD in Haiti is probably worth like $27 million in Haiti money, shrunken heads and chicken feet and eye of newt and whatnot.
Damn, I just heard there was another one. 6 points on the Richter Scale. No info on victims yet. And let's hope it stays that way (no victims, not no info).
