I'm not sure if this is a ToEE "feature" (read: bug) that's been there from the beginning or what, but has anyone noticed that when you recruit Raimol through Rannos and Gremag, they make the deal for initially 200GP to include Raimol and a suit of chainmail (or 150GP if you bargain down), then they say they're going to run off and get the chainmail and that you should talk to Raimol . . . you talk to him, he joins up, and he's wearing leather armor. Talking to Rannos and Gremag further just results in standard barter etc. dialogue options. It's as though they tricked you out of the chainmail. Livonya feature? It's actually rather in keeping with their shady ways that they'd try to rip you off. Troika feature as originally written? Atari (lack of) quality assurance bug?
It's not what... ...you're thinking; their abilities are supposed to be average. It's more like they want to make money from the sale (110%) and pretend like they care for their hireling. The armor is supposed to go with the man-at-arms (L-1) or the groom (L-0); it seems that either one can be rented out.
