Wow yeah I read about a page and felt my brain overloading.
I am sick to death of waiting for a decent CRPG to come out. Will try my hand with a few things after reading this and then enlist here as a private.
I downloaded Ted's tutorial. Unfortunately the links in the pages are not hyperlinked.
What are the links to get to all of the good stuff referred to in there?
Krunch put the pdf together. He must have not included the links.
Call me lazy, but I'm not going to go through the whole tutorial and locate all the missing links. Post some context about the links (relevant passages from the tutorial) that you want and I will see what I can find.
Sorry about not being more specific.
The links are those listed in the first four paragraphs on page one.
I would have copied and pasted but my PDF reader doesn't allow me to do that.
The links didn't come thru when it was converted to PDF. They are BOLD CAPS at the end of the text of each paragraph.
There may be more, but I am trying to catch up with over ten years of not doing any programming, so I am reading somewhat slower than those who do this on a daily basis.
First link: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2228 (in which can be found more of the templates for parts 2-4).
Second link: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1887 (Proto Ed)
Third link: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2021 (World Builder, though this may not be the latest. Check around)
Fourth link: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=372 (Phalyzar's thread).
All Ted's tutorials come from his blog (find it here). That is where I got the links I just provided from. Forgive me for being lazy, but you can research any others there.
I didn't think about his blog.
Maybe this will get me into doing something productive for this group.
I did not include links because if someone is interested, they can visit and use the links from Teds blog.
I have compiled an updated version of the ToEEWB modding tutorial by ShiningTed. See post # 2.
I have a totally complete map for you, if you would like I can send it over for you to work with and will fill in the idea/background... otherwise it is completely up to you what you do with it...
only st & vp have seen it as of yet
fyi - It looks like I need to update the PDF in the near future and provide it for downloading.
@ShiningTed: After the demo is released, can you update your blog with the new particle and visualization information for it to be included in the new PDF file?
Nooooo... while I have been tempted to turn the mega-watts of info from Cuch, Cujo, V_P and H_K on how to mod visual stuff into a tutorial, they have all at one time or another carefully spelt everything out - that would be redundant.
What I was just thinking, though (looking at H_K's particle stuff) would be a new thread in here with links to all the tutorial-style info posted across the various forums. H_K's stuff obviously has to be copied into the public forums (after the Demo ) and V_P's map-making tutorials in the Map Making forum should also have a link, among others.
EDIT: Or if you like, Krunch, make up a second .pdf just for all the model / map-making / visuals tutorials doing the rounds. Or we could do both.
