Hi, there is a small trouble with masterwork bucklers when using weapon finesse. W.F. descriptions says that, if the PC holds a shiled, he will get shield penality to his attack bonus. With normal bucklers it is fine since they have a -1 penality, but not with masterwork versions that should have 0: the AI does not includes the +1 comming from the masterwork attribute in the attack roll total. Emulating the masterwork attribute, making a buckler with shield penality = 0, is useless because, if the shield is still a masterwork, it grants a +1 to skills while, if the buckler is not a masterwork but works as it would, with no penality, it can't be enchanted. Any idea about how to fix it?
No idea how to fix this, but I've been griping about it everytime the subject has come up for the last few months.
What do you thinking about placing its standard penality to 0, assigning him the masterwork attribute and adding manually -1 penalities to the proper abilities, like if it was a cursed item, to compensate the masterwork attribute? Then it should be fine....
