When I try to launch the KotB (assuming I do so by clicking on lauch TooEE from teh front end), McAffee blocks it and says it is a trojan! I'm assuming it isn't...

We have had reports for a while that some virus scanners (mostly AVG) detect the modded ToEE exe as a trojan. See >> this << thread.

As far as anyone has ever known, it's a false positive.

Yes, it's known to be a false positive, and it only occurs if you're using a No-CD version of the game executable. If you use the official licensed executable that requires you to have your CD inserted when you play, you shouldn't receive the trojan warning.

Bizarre. I use the CD version. I'll check the other thread, thanks.

Not so i'm afraid.... All the ToEEFE executables cause this problem, despite the use of the disc...

The problem has resolved itself with the latest McAffe Updates, but if you use an old version for some odd reason then just disable mcaffe for 15 mins....

Yeah, weirdness abounds with the AV softwarez.

ESET gave me a problem with FE-X, it and Norton said the 32 MB no-cd was a Trojan, and my new Kaspersky says it's a keylogger.
