My friend sent me this link so i could see this paragraph, and it made me wonder, wouldn't they make a better effort to keep away "security breaches" ??

It's gotten so inter-laced and complicated that you need a super computer just to keep up with all the possible interactions. Once an information system has something, it's simply a matter of time before it's compromised. (Begins to sweat...) :nervous:

The British Government for some reason allowed the American Government to build a listening station which does just that. It scans for certain key words and records any conversations they crop up in. A group of scientists tried to get a protest going to make the system unworkable by trying to get the entire population to drop words like nuclear at random into their phone conversations.

I remember when Napster first started up and I tried to download Sinnead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares To U", or maybe it was Tears For Fears' "Shout", but the file was actually the flight logbooks from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This was at the time when Nathan R. Jessop's star was on the rise and was to be promoted to Head Of National Security. Very delicate information. I have never released the documents and anyone looking for them would just see an mp3 file named Sinnead O'Connor or whatever the hell it was.

That may well have been his most serious post, yah. Sinead O'Connor indeed
It failed because the US listening devices were listening for "nuke-u-ler".

    It's "Nuke-u-lar."

I'd hate to have that job - listening to the boring phone conversations of 300 million people.

    NU-CU-LAR (sighs)

It's a brand nuclear day, perfect for going fission.

"What's that? Honey, there are a lot of men in suits at the door who would like to talk to you..."
