    Hi

I have created a Cleric with magic domain with intent of using arcane wands like rays.

But current T+ implementation does not handle IT. Engine does not recognize my cleric to have half CL as arcane caster level and uses skill instead.

@Sitra Achara can we fix that? And can I try to fix this issue?

    BR,
    A

Sounds like a good thing to fix to me.

True. I was testing Cleric level 1 to use higher level wand.

That brings me to the rules:
    So:
    1. Yes, you are correct Sitra. It does work with lower level items. Thank you!!!
    2. Let's add additional roll check then.

Hah, you've already mentioned that I think (or was it doug?)
IMO it's not worth the time investment, and it'll also be turned off by default.
The more substantial issue is that it doesn't actually set the caster level to 1/2 cleric level, as reported by a user a long time ago. Also it should stack with actual wizard levels. And god knows what happens with theurges/practiced spellcaster feat etc...

Good point. I'll take a look to confirm that.

As for the higher level check - I cannot say that I agree.
    1. There are several places in SGoS where enemy NPC should have such check, as they are using higher level scrolls.

    2. Yesterday while DMing Expedition to Castle Ravenloft there was mad Priest who should have had cast Circle of Death on my PC. I actually rolled caster level check before the team. And they were terrified (I allowed them to check Spellcraft before). The check failed truthfully. That was fun.

And BTW currently if Cleric does not have necessarily level it would simply go Use Magic Item check meaning most likely to fail.

Ah sorry, I misread again! I thought you were talking about the mishaps.
Yes, currently in toee you can freely use scrolls above your level. That's against the rules obviously, but I'm not 100% sure whether or not it should go under Stricter Rules Enforcement, because it's fun :D

Well if that's the case, then Cleric should also be able to freely cast "above" his 1/2 level. Would you agree?

In any case I would like to push to some solution. Either allow Cleric of Magic domain to cast any scroll etc without level check. Or let's do caster check. What do you say?

Whatever the fix (or change) the Domain should give an advantage.

The roll should be fine, it's a low chance of failure anyway as long as the level discrepancy isn't high.
