I use Co8 6.0.0 NC on Windows 7. Everything works except the following: My wizard just became lv12, I can choose from two lv6 spells. I chose acid fog. When the leveling was completed, I went to inventory > spells and I didn't see acid fog. What I see is this: Lv0 *spells* Lv1 *spells* Lv2 *spells* Lv3 *spells* Lv4 *spells* Lv5 *spells* Lv6 (it appears twice) Lv6 *spells* (not acid fog, which I also chose on lv10.) Lv7 Lv8 Lv9 I tried to make a screenshot, but all I get is a black picture. The same thing happened to my cleric. He is lv12, he can use a lv6 domain spell, but can't choose from any.
This is a known issue. I tried to fix it for 6.1, but I couldn't. I think the problem may have to do with the fact that Acid Fog is spell #000. In some tables, AF is 000, in others, spell 000 is null, but apparently the engine is hardcoded to look for it as 000, because giving it another number doesn't work. I suspect that the failure to appear in spell lists has to do with the null spell condition in some tables, but again I couldn't fix it anyway. Someone with a better head for spells will have to give it a go.
Interesting. I think this problem pre-dates Acid Fog but yeah, putting it at 0 was risky, but its where it goes alas
I remember it happening with I think 0 level sorcerer spell lists. Do you remember how we fixed that?
No, but it was happening to Milo in KotB and I fixed it somehow by accident. Its a serious (well, butt-ugly) issue in KotB so I will try to figure out how to fix it.
