Hey guys, I wanted to inform you that I will no longer be available on MSN due to the recent updates that Microsoft has seemingly done to its MSN Live system. I critically disagree with the fact that in order to be able to use their system, I have to specify my full extended personal profile data including my full address and so on. Knowing Microsoft's security issues, I would like not to provide them with extended information in order not to become involved in some kind of fraud from the third party or something like that later. I'll still be available on the ICQ (if someone from our core crew doesn't know my ICQ, PM me and I'll give it to you) and by e-mail, and I'm also looking for some better chat service. If someone would like to keep communicating with me, it'll be e-mail+ICQ for a while, and then it may be extended with some custom IM service (I don't know which for now). - Agetian
Microsoft is doing a small number of things to be helpful concerning law enforcement agencies for law enforcement agencies track and catch pedophiles. That is why they want everyone who will use MSN to submit their full address and profile disclosure. [EDIT] MSN is doing their part to help protect children of which we can all say that is a very good thing.
Yah, this indeed is commendable, but they'd better think about their service security first.. Otherwise, someone may hack my data and use it for fraud or some other stuff like that. [EDIT] Informing you, guys, that now I'm also available on the Yahoo! IM. If someone (core team members only) needs my ID there, PM me and I'll send it to you. - Agetian
food for thought - Microsoft is the only company in the world that has over 10,000 people in the world [who are not Microsoft employees] spending a combined 10,000+ hours per week attempting to break [meaning hack] Microsoft software.
