I think I got my other crashing issues solved, however, whenever I go to the world view map, it stutters like crazy, making it almost impossible to go to another area, and sometimes it locks up completely and I have to do a hard reset. Does anyone know of this issue or have a fix for it?

    Thanks.

Anyone? This happened to me again this morning. If I have to uninstall, can I keep the saved games and characters?

I'll have a go at it, but I don't recall anyone posting on this subject before...so this is a new one to us all, I guess. And I'm not a tech support person, just a fan of the game like yourself, so try at your own risk.

Try the obvious first: sound card drivers. You may need to update them. Then try direct x. Someone's problems here were fixed when they re-installed direct x, but I think that was video...but it couldn't hurt to try, as dx also runs sound stuff. Also, some issues seem to fix themselves with the clean re-install, so you could also try that. As for saving old characters, I wouldn't simply because I wouldn't be able to be sure that it wasn't them goofing things up with my brand new clean install.

Other advice will most likely vary, so good luck in your efforts to enjoy this game.

Thanks, I was thinking a clean reinstall would be the way to go. Unfortunately. :tired:
btw, I am running the latest drivers for my vid card and sound card.
    BFG 6800, and Audigy ZS

I think I may have found the solution (after I uninstalled and reinstalled, of course). I think it's a conflicting refresh rate between in game and my actual desktop rez.. Maybe..
