Leaving members at the inn

I'm having leaving party members at the inn. I click on the book and the party menu comes up but when I click on a character nothing happens and it won't let me leave them.
Is this a glitch?
I'm playing toee+ with the CO8 mod and choose 8 pc characters in my party.
Am I doing something wrong, I need to leave at least 1 character there so I can complete the marriage quests.
Since my party is full I can't get them to join me to complete the quest.

never mind, figured it out

 

For the record, speak to the Barkeep, rather than using the book.

 

This should be clarified in-game, saying that to leave a party member, you must talk with the innkeeper then move upstairs instead of leaving the inn.
