Lantern Archon: no way to fix him? And more..

    Lantern Archon: no way to fix him? Crappy PROTOS and more..

    I was so ashamed when I summoned a bunch of them to discovered that they were completely useful. When I edited my old protos, I fixed many things, but still I have no idea about how to make its attack a ranged touch attack ray, as it should. Actually, it is not worthy of being in the list Summon Monsters IV: a 1d8 creature that does nothing is useless! At least, I restored some defensive abilities: magic resistance, elettrical immunity and proper 9 meters attack range but still, it does not ignore enemy's natural & forged armor when attacking.
    Instead there is no way to assign Weapon Finesse for unharmed attack to ANY monster. I checked Will o'the Wisp to see if it had some special ability related to it shocking attack and I discovered an amazing thing:
    it is broken! Completely! Like probably many other creatures in the game!
    If, sometimes, you felt angry because your charm monster spell didn't work, it is because the data in the protos.tab is completely messed up.
    There are too many parameters that haven't been calculated or properly coded in the protos. For example, nor the Archon or Will of the Wisp had weapon focus and they kept do detract the strength malus (-5 with STR 1) to their special attacks. Not to talk about saving throws, that were already calculated in the protos icluding ability score bonuses but then the AI re-add them during the game. For example, Will of the Wisp Will S.T. in the protos was already calculated with WotW's will bonus, then the AI re-added it during the game (I checked it with bard's suggestion, that ignores the WotW magical immunity).
    I fixed many things about them even if I was forced to trick the AI assigning to both creatures STR 10 instead of 1.
    I think that Troika guys throwed inside the protos the infos that they found in the monster manual without thinking about what they were doing, often making errors (think that the Archon had DEX 1 instead than 11! A clear mistake) so almost every date is corrupted except enemies without monster HDs. Actually it is impossible to know what monsters have been coded in the DLL file and what not, but still there is a lot that may and SHOULD BE fixed for the ones, like me that want to play a game that is closed as much as possible to the p&p D&D 3.5 Since I don't mind to post a new file for every thing that I do, I'm gonna to update the file that contains the prototypes for double weapons.

    More, there are a bunch of other things that I would really like to see, like a balor fighting with fire-whip and vorpal longsword, as it whould and....

    what do you think of assigning some special celestial animal companion to Paladin to cover the missing of the special horse?
    There are no many "epic" creatures, but maybe a Half-celestial war-dog would be a nice compromise.
