    What is lag?

The game stops responding, animations cease, and characters are frozen in place for periods of a few seconds to a few minutes.

    Where does it happen?

The Air, Earth, and Fire Nodes, Temple Level 4, and the Fire Temple on Temple level 2.

    ~

Please comment below on your lag experiences with versions 7.3.0 and onward of the modpack, and vote in the poll.

Note that for purposes of clarity, an instance of lag shall be considered a pause of five (5) seconds or longer, so vote and discuss accordingly.

I have lag on Temple lv4, in the area just before Senshok's chambers, and in the fungus area.

Earth was less laggy this time around than usual, although I didn't visit the worst spots.

Haven't been to the other two laggy nodes yet, so will hold off on voting till I do. Never had serious issues in Air before, though.

The keyboard lost all responsiveness three or four times in the Fire Node. The mouse still works but you have to exit the game and restart to use the keyboard again. I had three PC's with permanent spell bugs at the time so maybe that had something to do it? I had scather too.

BTW: Most of the time the Efreeti's ranged touch attack doesn't work and they just sit there holding their ams out each round and nothing happens.

I'm about to start the nodes for this release (been killed to death a few times in the Fire and Water temple areas; good work by someone!), but I had been having better results by not letting the screen move during group movement.

Except for the Fire node, of course. Always bad lag there.

    Will post results soon!

    7.3.3NC

I have experienced the two to three second lag on temple level 4 and the room where you first end up when take the portal to the right of where you come in through the hole the chair leaves when it moves in the skull movie clip, mainly in the upper room with the mushrooms of death and such.

I can explain if this doesn't make any sense. ;)

I have to say I've seen it.The time stuck is greatly reduced. So much so that it really is no longer a problem for me.Only a second or two instead of stop and wait,

I have cleared all the nodes except the fire node and the lag was non-existent.

Now, the fire node has not produced any lag, but I keep crashing while fighting the boss demon.

I'm curious why there have been a number of no-lag and less-lag reports, and yet not a single no-lag vote?

Also, are voters keeping the above definition in mind? Five seconds or longer.

Well, if my 2 to 3 second lag does not meet the criteria of a lag, then please remove my vote so that I may vote more in accordance with the standard.

According to the 5 second rule ... I had no lag. :)

The purpose of the 5 second rule (lol) is so that there is a definable distinction, and it seems reasonable since traditional lag tended to last way longer than that.

The issue is this: if lag is any delay whatsoever, than players can report its existence for both 10 minute lag and 1 second lag and I have no idea if any of our solutions are working. If they say 'above 5 seconds, yes,' then at least I know that significant lag is there, or not there.

The thing is, I suspect it's not there, except maybe in Temple Level 4 yet. If that's the case, this is a major milestone in the history of ToEE, even though the polls seem to say "Lag is still there - Co8 sucks!" See where I'm coming from?

I can't really take away your votes and reopen the poll to you specifically (as the forum doesn't know who voted and for what), but I can change the results to reflect your changes. What should they be in each instance?

My vote should reflect that if I had in fact experienced lag, it would have been in the fire node but not even a second long, more like the screen hit a snag as it panned over.

    So, sirchet = 0.0001% lag. :p

Now, the WoTGS is a whole different story and I posted my results in the appropriate thread, (yeah, I know it's weird that I actually used the correct thread).

EDIT: My previous vote was for Fire Node lag.

Alrighty, so both of you should have votes for no in all five locations? Also, which did you vote yes for initially so that I can remove them?
