I asked a similar question a while ago but it was likely lost in the myriad of other questions I've asked during that post. I was wondering if anybody has tried designing the throwing axe for ToEE? The light hammer (dwarven arrow), javelin, short spear, and dagger are all throwable and allow the user to keep a shield (other than a buckler) armed while doing so. The throwing axe is the ranged weapon that I can see a barbarian habitually using (look at the vikings). It can double as a hand axe with the exception that its crit is 20/x2. Is this something anybody has attempted?
I don't think anybody has attempted this. It shouldn't be difficult to do a throwing axe. They hard part is Returning Thrown Weapons. I know that has been mentioned lately, but I don't know if anyone is working on it.
Returning as in the Magical effect? That would make a rogue or any other character who throws daggers much more fun.
True--the problem is that the game engine moves the thrown weapon from your inventory to the target's inventory (assuming you hit, of course...). That looks hard coded, I'm not sure we could script something to move it back to your inventory. --Blair "Save me, save me, hurt them, hurt them!"
You might be able to, if there is a script that fires at the beginning of every combat phase (there should be). However the real issue would be to tell if the dagger had been thrown the previous round....actually, that would be pretty easy to solve with a few flags. Damnit! So many mods...absolutely zero free time....must quit other recreation...
