Hello all, With Madam Z firmly laid to rest (for now), i can safely say i had an enjoyable time (apart from node fun that everyone experienced). The game system was comprehensive in every way, and the potential is great. TOEE starts off quite well, with town quests and small locations being the order of the day. I enjoyed these small adventures greatly, and had a great time. My problem with the game is the module used. The temple itself is massive, and i found myself sometimes sick to death of it. The combat and game system saved it, but honestly, by the end of the game, i was suffering a yearning for new locations. To me, the moathouse was a cool small dungeon. About double that size would make good adventure locations. Add on to this better characterisation for NPCs, and i would have much preferred it. As it stands, the temple itself, while being well implmented was too damn large for my tastes. Add to this the pain of having to traverse back across levels to get back out for resting..... again, im not saying i didn't have fun IN the temple, but the size of it, and the necessary travel for resting made things rather annoying. Its a pity the temple was not smaller with other locations outside it to make up for this and give a breather between quests. Apart from that, i find myself yearning for other games using this engine. The mechanics are all there for almost any kind of adventure. What i wish for is the implementation of other modules, particularly the Pool of Radiance module, though seeing it is forgotten realms, i don't know how this would work with a greyhawk based game. Is this game moddable in such a way? anyone know if Troika might release a builder sometime? is the artwork predrawn or tile based?
