Yes, it does. But I'm not talking about a gorgeous girl like the FYC, but about the invensource.mes file. damn'it: I carefully red the guides here for modding and there is no doubt that it is the file that lists the NPCs equipments and items sold in stores. BUT.... - sometimes, adding items to a NPC or monster makes the game to QTD - adding or removing items to shopkeepers does NOTHING. I added a new item, marked it as 100,4025 (and tried with several more items and shopkeepers) so that the item with ID 4025 shoul be found 100% of times but the inventory is always the same everytime that I start a new game. - not to talk about the 2-weapons fighting matter. This thing is really becoming an obsession: PCs are not living beings, they do what I tell them to do but I can't understand how Troika's managed the matters above. Did somebody already succeded in those kinds of hacking? Or should I wait for Livonya's return? (wow, sounds so epic! )
I believe this is a .mob file problem, and as it is an unknown format you'll have to wait until agetian has a more usefull mob file editor, before you can fix this problem.
I may only cross fingers for that, but I still wonder how Liv was able to create her assassin that effectively uses 2 weapons and how she managed to create Lareth's shop list. I'll wait....
The assain wielded two weapons before livonya got her hands on him, she just gave him a different weapon (and a better AI, and more dialogue).
Ah, so was he a pre-existing character that she recilced for her vegance plot? Amazing :-| But Allyx, this opens a new argument: Looking all available file that I could open, as oprobably every other modder already did, I saw that there are really many things that are uncompleted or already ready but sealed waiting for a possible expansion set. Is there any way to unlock them? Or does it involves a too hard temple.dll hacking? Damn, this game has a so great potential and it really makes me angry to be only from one step from using all those things for empowering it and realizing how f***g big this step is.
The assassin would come after you if you sell something with Larreth's name on it to the traders before Liv' worked her wonders, she swapped out his normal (or was it masterwork?) rapier for a rapier +2, swapped his feats (gave him 2 weapon fighting feats and weapon finesse). The craft magic weapon options will require a very skilled .dll hacker, to do a LOT of complicated stuff, but things like new sound sets, portraits, spells, items, and skins (to add new colours to existing meshes), are already being added to the game, understanding how the .mob files work will add posabilities to the modding that can be done to the game, the map discombobulator will (hopefully) in time be able to add new maps - and tonnes of new content, but there's plenty to do in the mean time, with the tools we already have.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggggggg>!!!!!!! :dead: :chairshot :zap: Baldur's Gate II! The game that inspired, together with other classics, ToEE interface and style!
Yeah, BDII on the C64 was a classic . . . not sure how it influenced ToEE though. It certainly didn't cause any QTDs.
Damn the gameplay on BoulderDash was fantastic wasn't it? And what about that 'lock' level where you had to fiddle the bottom so that all the rocks fell into place like tumblers and you could scoot across the middle to get the one diamond. Brilliant. It was more real-time than ToEE though, ToEE is turn based you know.
You know, I think that, even if I was quite young, I remember it. But all those C64 games were so hard that I was able to end noone of them. Only Rush 'n Attack ( or known as green berret or cobra cobra) when I downloaded it for a C64 emulator for PC. Old, lovely times
