Good morning to one and all....
I have a question on multi class characters which may stem from my lack of understanding 3.5 rules, but I am unable to advance any higher in the Monk class. Right now, the character is a 6th level multiclass Monk/Thief with 4 levels Thief and 2 Monk. For the last 2 advancements the Monk option was not available. All the stats are within guidelines and the character is Lawful Evil.
Any help I can gain on this would be appreciated.
Also, after some initial help, I've managed to complete TOEE about 15 times using various alignments and through various updates. While I wait patiently for the KOTB update does anyone have any suggestions on a similar game?

    Thanks

Monks cannot choose to be monks after multiclassing.
    The same goes for paladins.

That makes sense. I had advanced a couple levels in Thief before multi-classing to Monk. Trying to keep them even, I went back to Thief on the 5th level up.

As I said, it may have been caused by my lack of understanding.

    Thanks for the help.

Depends on what you're after and why you like ToEE. Fallout is a classic RPG which is well worth revisiting. Arcanum can be fun. Planescape is also interesting.

    Thanks for the reply.

TOEE seems to be the closest I've seen to actual game play. I'm an old school gamer & collector for many years and have followed the progression of computer games beginning with classic Pool of Radiance on Commodor 64 to Baulder's gate (I), Pool of Radiance - ROMD and to TOEE. The original Pool was okay for the time, I didn't care much for Baulder's Gate and the Pool-ROMD's game play is too slow for my taste. Alot of walking and retracing.

I don't have a huge amount of time to play at any given time, so I've been choosy on what packages I buy. I bought ROMD because I have the boxed set (and Myth Drannor is so cool) and TOEE because I had just purchased v 3 Player's handbook to add to my collection (and soon added v3.5 as well).

I figured since everyone on this board seems to really enjoy TOEE, it would be the best place to start.

    Thanks again
