I've just returned to this forum after 2 1/2 years as I've just started playing again and I've got version 5 of the mod (previous one I had was ver 3.0, I think). I've tried searching the archives but can't find a definitive answer - some say he's fixed, others talk about making him a Ranger. In a thread called "Is this a bug?", in January 2006, I asked about Elmo as he didn't have his Feats for Wep Focus and Wep Spec (Battle Ax) and Kalshane said he was putting this in the next version. But in ver 5.0 of the Co8 mod, he still lacks them. So what's going on? I gave him a Ftr level at level 5, so if he was a Ranger he should have got a Feat, but he didn't, so he must STILL be a Fighter with only 4 feats instead of 6?!? Also, Furnok's skill points are wrong - he got 11 points at level 5, which is correct for his deduced INT, but has developed only 10 skills - I figure he needs Sleight of Hand to assist his Bluff and card sharking, so I put 6 ranks in that and spread others about, but at 5th level he should have 8 ranks in all 11 skills. I'm surprised no one's answered this. Does no one know why Elmo only has 4 feats at 4th level rather than 6? The obvious ones which are missing seem to be Wep Focus and Wep Spec. I thought the mod had fixed that. ~
In ToEE, at start, he seems to be a 4th level Fighter. Look at his feats. Too many 1/2's in his skills. Surely somebody already KNOWS, by now, exactly what he is.
I haven't a clue! Is it a secret? In the original First Edition paper module he was a Ranger, but he seems to be a Fighter with too few Feats in the electronic, 3.5E version. ~

What the...!! But he has only FOUR in my version - that's why I posted in the first place - what's going on? I have the Co8 mod version 5 installed, with Jade Empress, the Whorehouse and some new spells. Why have I got the unmodded, unpatched, vanilla version NPCs? Cheers ~
I haven't found any revision statements relative to this in the release notes, but it may be that it wasn't implemented until after 5.0.0, which would mean you'd need to install the CMF (cumulative mods and fixes) patch. Me too. Does a sober Elmo have fewer feats? Trouble is, I think he's level 6, so I'll have given him Focus and Spec already
Could someone simply pop the latest version of protos.tab open and settle this? Checking both regular and sober Elmo? :shrug:
Just opened it up my unmodified protos file with Protos Editor, and both entries for elmo show him as a Fighter 4 with 6 feats.
So, I hate to ask, why isn't Elmo a Ranger? I know vanilla gives him ranger ranks when he goes up, but that just makes him 4Ftr/#Ran.
